Remarks on central speech disorders

Some problems connected with speech and language are discussed. Neuroanatomical locations of speech perception and expression centres are indicated. Attention is paid to the participation of the insule in the central
communicative processes. Asymmetry of the cerebral hemispheres and the process of myelination are discussed. Neurophysiological basis of aphasia and dysarthria are described. Central-related character of specific language
impairments (SLI) in children and their clinical and linguistic classification are presented.
