Mixed laryngocele – a case report and review of the relevant literature
Anna Pajor, Katarzyna Maciaszczyk, Magdalena Józefowicz-Korczyńska

Laryngocele is an air-filled abnormal dilatation of laryngeal saccule.
The paper presents the uncommon case of laryngocele
in a 51-year old woman who complained of hoarseness and
occasional swelling of the neck while coughing, without concomitant
symptoms, like: dyspnea and disturbances in swallowing.
Computed tomography examination confirmed the presence
of a mixed-type 35 x 22 mm airspace. The laryngocele was
surgically removed from external approach which allowed good
visualization without the need of thyrotomy performance.
