The clinical picture and the most frequent causes of occupational contact dermatitis has been reported.
Data on the incidence of allergic contact dermatitis in the West Europe have been compared with the data obtained from three Polish (Warsaw, Gdańsk, Łódź) centres. Frequency of allergic reations and sources of sensitization to metals (chromium, cobalt, nickel), formaldehyde, rubber compounds, epoxy resins, acrylates and aromatic amines have been reported. Current opinions on contact dermatitis in atopic patients have been presented.
